The WPRS working group “GMOs in integrated plant production” of the International Organisation for Biological and Integrated Control (IOBC) cordially invites you to its upcoming 8th meeting from 4 to 6 September 2017 at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering of the Ghent University. The theme of the meeting will be:
The following topics will be covered by the meeting:
Modern biotechnology in integrated crop management
Risk assessment of GM plants including products from the public sector
Plant protection products produced by GMOs, including microbials and microorganisms
Plants using RNAi technology to provide pathogen or insect resistance
New plants derived from biotechnology (including genome editing) and their potential for IPM
Insect resistance management strategies of GM crops
GM insects for agriculture
We encourage participants to apply for oral and poster presentations by submitting an abstract. The conference language will be English. In case that you have any suggestions regarding the organization or programme of the meeting or any further question please contact us.

The working group
The working group “GMOs in Integrated Plant Production” aims to present a platform for exchange of research results and to stimulate collaborative projects dealing with genetically modified organisms in agriculture, their potential for integrated production systems, and their impact on the environment. The working group organizes a meeting every second year and the proceedings are published in the IOBC-WPRS Bulletin:

The meetings are usually attended by 50-100 scientists from the public sector, regulatory agencies, and the private sector. Attendants from Europe, the Mediterranean, Middle East, and the rest of the world are welcome. Each presenting attendant is encouraged to contribute to the meeting proceedings, either by publishing an extended abstract or a short paper.
